The university sports center in the middle of the Oberaue, directly at the Saale, is one of the main stays of the university sports. For many decades it has been the focal point for young and old to do sports. Since 2011, it has been operated and developed by the USV Jena in cooperation with the Friedrich Schiller University (FSU).
In 2013, the university sports center was severely damaged by a flood. But we were able to make a virtue out of necessity and, with the support of the Friedrich Schiller University and the Free State of Thuringia, not only rebuild the facilities, but even improve them. Many of them you can not only use in the courses or as part of a club membership, you can also rent them! You want to play tennis with friends? Or beach volleyball? No problem! You can rent the facilities for the entire semester on a fixed date or, if they are still free, for individual appointments.
